Programs and Agreements

International cooperation is our priority. Collegium and its faculty have an extensive network of international contacts, which allows to maintain and expand the international dimension of studies. We help and encourage our students to travel and study abroad, welcome international students in Warsaw, and participate in joint research and educational initiatives. Collegium Civitas' students are ten times more likely to study abroad than an average Polish student. They also benefit from international placement (vocational training), conferences and study visits abroad.

The cooperation takes place within the framework of international programmes and bilateral agreements, which Collegium has concluded with several dozen universities and academic institutes in Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Israel, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Spain, the Czech Republic, Norway, Sweden,  (see the list of our International Partners).

The main international programme at Collegium is the Erasmus programme. Funded by the European Commission, Erasmus is to facilitate student and teacher mobility between European universities. Thanks to the programme, Collegium Civitas’ students can take one or two semesters of study at partner universities, and receive scholarships to cover a major part of their living costs abroad. Credits and grades earned abroad are recognized as equal to credits and grades at Collegium, thanks to the common European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). Student exchange with our partner universities outside the EU, in Canada, Israel, Korea and the U.S., takes place under bilateral agreements.

The Leonardo da Vinci programme supports training and work placement in the EU countries. At present Collegium Civitas’ students can under this programme earn work experience relevant to their education in partner institutions and companies in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Great Britain, Portugal and Spain. Outside Leonardo, our students participate in extended training in Polish embassies and consulates in various countries, the European Parliament and foreign media, as well as in shorter study visits to Berlin, Brussels or Strasburg.

The Jean Monnet Action is a European Commission initiative to enhance education on European matters, on European integration in particular. Collegium has been awarded Jean Monet grants since 1999, which, among others, helped establish several specialized courses, organize conferences, etc. Participation in the Jean Monnet Action is competitive, and confirms the quality of European studies at Collegium.

Under the Erasmus–Mundus programme Collegium Civitas participates in the international consortium of universities for a European Master's programme in Human Rights and Genocide Prevention. Partners in consortium are: University of Kingston (Great Britain), University of Siena (Italy), Viadrina University (Germany), Danish Center for International Studies (Denmark), and Uppsala University (Sweden). Students will have the chance to choose courses at partner universities and earn joint European MA.

Collegium Civitas is interested in expanding the network of partner universities and the scope of international contacts. We are ready to establish cooperation within the framework of EU programmes including Socrates, Leonardo and, Tempus, as well as under regular bilateral agreements.
